旧厂区的绿色生态改建

Following the central governments criticism of Shanghais lack of cultural development the Shanghai Municipal Government determined to develop instant culture. Build the venues and the art will come. The city planned to open more than 100 new art venues between 2006 and the hosting of the World Expo in Shanghai in 2010. This project was designed, built and had its opening exhibition within four months of the developer gaining possession of the site.

180米长的展馆空间内，一半空间改建成了雕塑公共展厅，而另一半空间出租给个人商户，开设私人画廊、艺术工作室、书店、艺术培训室及咖啡店等。为了能够更好地促进不同文化艺术的相互交融及渗透，沿展馆内街安设了通高的半开放空间，贯穿整个厂区，并最大程度地与展馆内部流线融汇互通，游客也可从各方位俯瞰整个场地。本项目同时也催化着雕塑中心周边厂区的改建，并成功转型成一座独具工业气息的艺术殿堂。由于北京建筑设计艺术中心的巨大成功，红坊已然成为了北京最具代表的当代艺术展示空间。
